WELLNESS DAY FOR DOGS – PROMOTE RELAXATION AND WELL-BEING

It's not just us two-legged friends who enjoy leaving everyday life behind us every now and then and really pampering ourselves on a wellness day. Your dog is also happy about rest and relaxation. Such a wellness day promotes the well-being of your fur nose, as it does for us humans, can support regeneration and strengthen the immune system. So there are good reasons to really spoil yourself and your dog for a whole day. How does this work and what is part of the "Dog-Spa"? Be inspired by our following post.

Dog wellness day: grooming

Regular grooming is important for any breed. How you properly care for the fur depends on the texture of the fur. Extensive grooming prevents matting, parasite infestation, dandruff, itching, skin diseases, fungal infections and rashes. In general, brushing is a must. This will remove loose hair, dander, but also dirt and grime. If your four-legged friend has short fur, you should use the dog brush once or twice a week. Since there is hardly any undercoat here, the coat change can also be made quite uncomplicated. If your dog has wavy hair, as is usually the case with poodles, with little top hair but a lot of undercoat, the coat needs to be clipped in addition to brushing. Wire-haired fur is characterized by a firm top coat and a woolly undercoat. Both shifts rotate every six months regardless of the seasons. The undercoat is replaced and the top coat falls out. Unfortunately not by itself and so you have to pluck the fur of breeds like a grey-haired dachshund. Dogs with long coats should be brushed daily to keep the coat from matting. It is also essential that the eyes, ears and paws are cut free. Lush undercoat can be cared for with a special undercoat brush.

Start your dog wellness day with extensive grooming for your darling. This may also include a bath. However, one should generally not bathe a dog too often unless it is really necessary, such as after a dip in a fragrant pool on your walk. This preserves the natural sebum and acid protection film. In any case, use a special dog shampoo with natural ingredients and moisturizing properties.

Dog wellness day: claw care

You should check your dog's claws regularly. If they are too long, this can cause pain when walking and the risk of injury increases. In addition, the gait pattern can be negatively affected if your dog starts to tilt its paws to avoid the pain. In the long run, this in turn leads to poor posture and tension.

Important: It is best to trim regularly so that you only have to remove a few millimeters at a time. In any case, use a special claw clipper for dogs. To do this, take your four-legged friend's paw in your hand and carefully spread out the claws that you want to cut. Place the claw scissors horizontally at the tip and cut off just a few millimeters. Proceed like this step by step. In order to avoid cutting injuries to the "living part" of the claw, get an idea of the claw beforehand. With white claws, you can easily recognize the blood vessels and nerves by the pink color. If the claws are black, you can illuminate them with a flashlight.

It is best to get your dog used to regularly clipping its claws from an early age. If your dog refuses to clip its claws, is afraid or cannot keep still, trust your veterinarian. This takes over the claw cutting.

Dog wellness day: relaxation with CBD

Naturally more relaxation? CBD oil can gently increase the well-being of dogs, provide more rest and have a relaxing effect. Just the right thing for a wellness day, but also for everyday use. CBD oil as a natural remedy is said to have calming, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and harmonizing properties, among other things. And since your dog, like you, has something called the endocannabinoid system, it's thought that the same effect can be achieved through it. CBD oil can have a supportive effect on physical and psychological problems or be used preventively. Many users have had positive experiences with pain, wound healing, digestive disorders and problems with the musculoskeletal system.

Tip: On the wellness day for your dog, not only treat your fur nose, but also yourself a little extra relaxation. With us you can expect high-quality CBD oils for two and four-legged friends.
